Ett luftfartsavtal träffades 1981 mellan Sverige och Irak. Avtalet är förhandlat på engelska, därför är texten nedan på engelska.
An Air Service Agreement between Sweden and Iraq was signed on 2 July 1981. A new Air Service Agreement that will supersede the existing Air Service Agreement of 1981 was initialled on 26-27 October 2009 together with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU has been superseded by a new MoU initialled in 2015. The new agreement has not yet been signed.
Designation principle (Memorandum of Understanding)
Each Contracting Party may designate one or more airlines.
Traffic rights for airline designated by Sweden (Air Service Agreement)
Routes to be operated by the airlines designated by Sweden: From points in Sweden via intermediate points to points in Iraq and points beyond.
Nothing will prevent a designated airline of either Contracting Party to omit serving intermediate and/or beyond points.
Possibility to enter into co-operative marketing arrangements such as code sharing.
Capacity provisions (Memorandum of Understanding)
The designated airlines of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, respectively, may operate up to 20 frequencies per week in each direction..
5th freedom rights would have to be approved on a case by case basis.
