Registration plates
In Sweden, a vehicle that is subject to registration may only be used if it is fitted with registration plates.
There are different registration plates for different vehicles and situations. Below you can see some types of Swedish registration plates.
Registration plate
- Single-row registration plates used for most types of vehicles.
- Dimensions: 520 x 110 mm
Registration plate for motorcycle and moped class I
- Two-row registration plate for motorcycle and moped class 1.
- Dimensions: 170 x 150 mm
Small registration plate (often called US-style plate)
- Small, single-row registration plates used on vehicles with small space.
- Dimensions: 300 x 110 mm
Personalised registration plate
This registration plate can be used on most types of vehicles. For a fee, you may order a character combination that you have designed yourself. Between two and seven characters are permitted.
