Ett luftfartsavtal träffades 1967 mellan Sverige och Malaysia. Avtalet är förhandlat på engelska, därför är texten nedan på engelska.

The Air Service Agreement between Sweden and Malaysia was signed on 19 October 1967. A new agreement was initialled on 25 November 1997. This agreement was amended on 28 September 2011, but has not yet been signed.

Points in Sweden - Intermediate points (any points) - Points in Malaysia - Points beyond (any points) 

The designated airline(s) may on any or all flights omit calling at any of the points mentioned above. 

There shall be no limitation on the number of frequencies or types of aircraft that can be operated by the designated airlines of both Contracting Parties in operating the agreed services.

The designated airlines shall be entitled to serve intermediate and/or beyond points on a blind sector basis or with fifth freedom rights. 

The designated airlines may enter into co-operative marketing arrangements such as blocked-space or code sharing arrangements, with an airline (or airlines) of either Contracting Party; or an airline (or airlines) of a third Party.

Malaysia has concluded a horizontal air service agreement with EU

EU’s horizontal agreement aims at bringing all Member States bilateral agreements with Malaysia to be in line with certain EU provisions. This means that some of the articles in the bilateral agreement between Sweden and Malaysia no longer applies, since they are replaced by the provisions in the horizontal agreement.
