Libanon

Ett luftfartsavtal träffades 2019 mellan Sverige och Libanon. Avtalet är förhandlat på engelska, därför är texten nedan på engelska.

There is an air service agreement between Sweden and Lebanon from 23 March 1953. A new agreement was initialled on 15 May 2019, but has not yet been signed.

Traffic rights for airlines designated by Sweden

The designated airlines of Sweden have the right to operate in both directions between points in Sweden via intermediate points to points in Lebanon and points beyond.

The exercise of any 5th freedom traffic rights would have to be agreed upon between the aeronautical authorities of the Contracting Parties.

Possibility to enter into co-operative marketing arrangements such as blocked-space or code sharing also with a third Party.

Capacity regime

The designated airlines of Sweden and Denmark on passenger services are entitled to operate up to 12 weekly flights in total per week in each direction from Sweden and Denmark. The designated airlines of Lebanon are entitled to operate up to 12 weekly flights in total to Denmark and Sweden. From IATA summer schedule 2025 the allowed weekly flights will increase to 13 for both parties, and from IATA summer schedule 2026 to 14. 

Designated airlines of each contracting party are entitled to operate all cargo flight in each direction with 3rd, 4th and 5th freedom traffic rights without any restrictions as to frequencies. 

Lebanon has concluded a horizontal air service agreement with EU

EU’s horizontal agreement aims at bringing all Member States bilateral agreements with Lebanon to be in line with certain EU provisions. This means that some of the articles in the bilateral agreement between Sweden and Lebanon no longer applies, since they are replaced by the provisions in the horizontal agreement.
