Remember
If you change your car or trailer, you might need a Category B extended (B96) or BE
licence because of the weight distribution Your vehicle registration certificate contains
information about the maximum weight your car may tow. You can also use the Trailer Calculator or the Swedish Transport Agency's app – "Mina fordon".
Use the trailer calculator
The trailer calculator is a service that can help you to quickly determine if you are allowed to tow a certain trailer. In addition, you can find out which licence categories are required and how much weight the trailer may carry. You can also find out the maximum permitted speed for the vehicle and trailer's combination.
