Licence verification
This page contains information on how we can help you verify your pilot licence or air traffic controller certificate and its ratings.
There may be various occasions when you need to obtain verification of your licence and its ratings, for example, for a job application, for validation to enable you to fly temporarily in a third country, or when transferring a licence from a third country or another EASA Member State. To this end, we can help you produce an EASA FCL Licence Verification Form, or, as we usually call it, a Verification Letter.
A Verification Letter is written in English and contains the following information:
- State of issue
- Licence number
- Personal data (name, address, date of birth, nationality, contact details)
- Type of licence/certificate and date of issue
- Endorsements in the licence and their expiry dates (language, radiotelephony, class ratings, type ratings, local endorsements, instructor endorsements, examiner endorsements)
- Type of theoretical examination
- Past or pending enforcement action, if applicable
- Validity of your Medical certificate
Incident/accident report
We often receive enquiries regarding an ‘Incident/accident report’, which we unfortunately are unable to assist you with. This is because, in Sweden, we do not hold this information at an individual level. This is stated in our Verification Letter. However, information regarding previous or ongoing -related actions is included, where applicable. If not, this is stated, indicating that the holder has complied with standing requirements for the licence and that no irregularities or accidents have been reported.
Request and billing
You can request a Verification Letter by emailing our registry office: certifikat.w3d3@transportstyrelsen.se
During regular workload we send a Verification Letter by email to the requester within 5 working days.
For each Verification Letter issued, we will send you an invoice for currently 200 SEK. This applies regardless of who places the order; yourself, a company or another public authority.
You can find the applicable fee for a Verification Letter in Chapter 13, Section 3 of the Swedish Transport Agency’s regulations (TSFS 2024:78) on fees (last amended by 2025:30) (in swedish).
