Iran
An air transport agreement between The Government of The Kingdom of Sweden and The Imperial Government of Iran was signed in 1975.
An Air Service Agreement between Sweden and Iran was signed on 10 June 1975. A new Air Service Agreement was initialled on 5 September 2018 together with Agreed Minutes. The new agreement has not yet been signed but have immediate practical effect on an administrative basis.
Designation principle
Each Contracting Party may designate one or more airlines.
Traffic rights for airline designated by Sweden
Routes to be operated by the airlines designated by Sweden: From points in Sweden via intermediate points to points in Iran and points beyond.
Each designated airlines may serve intermediate points and points beyond on condition that no fifth freedom traffic rights is exercised between these points and the territory of the other Contractiong party unless an agreement to that effect is made between the Contracting Parties.
Possibility to enter into co-operative marketing arrangements such as code sharing, also with Third Party.
Capacity regime
The designated airlines of each contracting party may operate up to 14 (fourteen) weekly frequencies in both directions on the specified routes. As regards cargo services, no frequency limitations applies.
