Since 1 January 2021, the United Kingdom is no longer a part of EU’s internal aviation market.

A traffic permit is needed to perform commercial traffic between the United Kingdom and Sweden

This applies to both scheduled and non-scheduled traffic. What traffic rights are available is stated in the Trade and Cooperation Agreement* signed by EU and the United Kingdom. You can read more about the agreement on EU-Agreements / United Kingdom.

Information regarding traffic permits for EU-operators who perform air services to the UK

From 1 January 2021, EU-operators who wish to perform commercial air services, scheduled or non-scheduled, to the UK from Sweden or vice versa will need to have a traffic permit from the Swedish Transport Agency and from the British Civil Aviation Agency.

Information regarding traffic permits for UK-operators who perform air services to Sweden

From 1 January 2021, operators from UK will be regarded as third country operators from an EU perspective, including Sweden. Third country operators need traffic permits for their operations to and from Sweden. This applies to both scheduled and non-scheduled traffic.
