 Aviation Trends 2012

Aviation Trends 2012The articles in Aviation Trends 2012 are selected from the Swedish magazine Flygtendenser and range from the beginning of Swedish aviation 100 years ago to present challenges with development of risk based systems for oversight of civil aviation. The magazine also covers some facts about the Civil Aviation Department as well as flight safety and passenger statistics for 2011, all this to give the reader some information about the Swedish aviation market.

Aviation Trends 2010

Aviation Trends 2010For the second year running we have the pleasure of publishing Aviation Trends, an English-language edition of the magazine of the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) for our international readers.

The international issue is a selection of articles from our quarterly report Flygtendenser, which includes flight safety and passenger statistics, analyses and a selected topic for each issue. Within the scope of these topics we do more detailed studies of various parts of the aviation market. During 2009 the following topics were dealt with: the financial crisis, domestic aviation, flight safety cultures and air freight. Before Sweden assumed the EU presidency in July 2009 we published a special issue focusing on EU and European civil aviation.

Aviation Trends 2009

Aviation Trends 2009During 2008 the air transport market was affected by the financial crisis and the downturn of the global economy. Air carriers and aircraft manufacturers were compelled to adjust their activities and make substantial savings in order to meet the decreasing air traffic demand. Sweden is in the forefront of flight safety and its standards meet the level of safety standards of other comparable countries.
