Accident Investigation Reports
Certain accidents at sea of particular interest result in
accident investigation reports that shall be formatted according to
international practice. A report begins with a summary section that
is followed by a report of the facts and course of events. The
material is assessed and the result presented in an analysis
section.
An investigation is aimed at finding out what happened, why the
accident happened and to try and identify measures to keep it from
happening again. Based on that goal, the headings in the report are
Observations, Recommendations, Damage Description and
Conclusions.
From the year 2010 you will find the accident report with
a summary in English.
