ICAO Air Services Negotiation Conference ( ICAN/2001)
Sweden - together with Denmark and Norway will participate in
ICAO Air Services Negotiation Conference ( ICAN/2001) which will
take place in Mumbai 17 – 23 October 2011.
The ICAN meeting organised by ICAO is a meeting place for States
wishing to conduct Air Services consultations with third
parties. The Scandinavian countries participate in a joint
delegation and through the services of the ICAN2011 secretariat
meetings have been agreed between Scandinavia and the following
countries: Australia, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, Iran, Kenya,
Oman, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkmenistan, Uganda, United Arab
Emirates and Zambia. A meeting with the Republic of Korea may
also take place.
The main purpose of these consultations differs from country to
country. For some countries the main purpose is to modernise
Air Services Agreements that already are signed or only initialled,
and to bring them in line with EU and EEA laws. In other
cases the main purpose is to discuss the possibilities of improving
the traffic rights entitlements to and from Scandinavia, i.e. to
improve the possibilities for a better route network on commercial
terms.
Should you have any comments or requests that you would like the
Scandinavian delegation to take into account in these
consultations, please contact
